In order to create such eyes, a mixture of soap and mercury is heated in a rune-covered retort until they are both vaporized. The vapors are then carefully blown through a long silver straw until a bubble forms at the tip. It is then left to dry in the reflection of the sun in 13 small concave silver mirrors.
