descr         "There are four major tribes of amazons, each named after a different type of gemstone.  The Garnet Amazons are more ferocious than the other tribes and run some sort of fire cult where being burned is an important thing.  None of the tribes are more than half civilized and they use only weapons that are simple to create and in battle they lack both discipline and tactics.  Their armies consist of only women and actually no males at all have been sighted among them.  It is probable that they are like dwarves but in reverse, a single male that runs a colony of female amazons.^^To further display their simple nature and superstitious beliefs they often paint themselves with tattoos, claiming that they will gain the characteristics of the depicted animal.  The Garnet Amazons tend to paint themselves with crude pictures of ferocious beasts."
