descr          "While most dryads are trained as priestesses of the Old Ways there are a few who have adopted a martial way of life.  How this can be accepted by the Dryad Queens is beyond our imagination.  To put the ladies of the wild in the midst of battle should be in accordance with neither the interest of the Dryad Queens nor the will of Gaia as expressed through the Old Ways.  In fact Dryad Hoplites is a new and alarming occurrence.  In ancient times there were no gleaming bronze armors for dryads to wear and the dryads were properly trained in the sacred groves.  The mastery of bronze working should not be used as an excuse to allow us to field armies of our beloved dryads.  Regardless of their martial skills and gifts of Gaia the dryads of our time should get a new role where their talents could be appreciated by all.  Music, dancing and possibly cooking could be areas of expertise where we would appreciate the skills of the dryads."
